The Code of Conduct Tribunal has found Godsday Orubebe, former minister of Niger Delta affairs, guilty of false declaration of assets. Danladi Umar, chairman of the tribunal, delivered the judgment convicting Orubebe of the offense.

Orubebe was however given a light sentence. The tribunal, on behalf of the federal government, seized the property known a plot of land belonging to the former minister somewhere in Abuja. Danladi Umar held that Orubebe committed an offense for not declaring the piece of property in Abuja, which he claimed he had sold.
