Youths Organize Pro-Jonathan Rally in Sokoto

Following the death of Ibrahim Dasuki, former Sultan of Sokoto, and father of the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Dr Goodluck Jonathan took a trip out to Sokoto for a condolence visit to the family of the late Sultan.
The late Sultan who was deposed during the military administration of Late General Sanni Abachi died on Monday November 14 in Abuja, at the age of 94.
Upon his arrival to Sokoto on Thursday, November 17, the former President was greeted bycheering youths who carried placards hailing Jonathan and asking him to come back as president. Although they were kept at bay by security details, the youths kept on chanting songs in honour of the former president.



Meanwhile, It was reported that Sambo Dasuki who is still in custody of the Federal Government, declined to attend his father’s burial when given the opputunity. According to Interior Minister, AbdulRahman Dambazau, Dasuki declined offers to visit his late father in the hospital and to be in Sokoto at the mourning period.
