Twin Bomb Blasts Hit Maiduguri

Another twin Blasts on Sunday hit Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

This is coming barely 48 hours after a twin bomb blasts hit Madagali market, in Madagali Local government area of Adamawa State, leaving 56 dead and 177 injured.

The two blasts occurred in quick succession at about 8:48 am in a crowded area near Maiduguri’s main market. Three people have been confirmed dead in the bomb explosion.

A personnel of the local vigilante called Civilian-JTF, involved in the rescue and evacuation of victims of the blasts, confirmed the death to journalists.

The police spokesperson, Victor Isuku, confirmed the blasts which he said were near Old NEPA office not far from Monday market.

The bomb attack also follows after a comment credited to the Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima, where he said that  said despite the insurgency in the state, Maiduguri, the state capital, is safer than Lagos, Abuja and most state capitals in the country.
