Patience Jonathan’s Home Raided by Police

Some men of the Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday in Abuja, raided the home of the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience.

The building is located along Igbeti Rock Street, Maitama.

It was gathered that, apart from the private security guards, no other person was within the premises when the policemen arrived.

More than 20 policemen, who came in three Hilux vans and another Toyota Hiace bus, were said to have forced themselves into the building.

Although Mrs. Jonathan has been having a running battle with the anti-graft agency, EFCC, over the ownership of a controversial $15 million, sources at the commission said the EFCC did not carry out the raid.

According to sources, the police forced themselves into all the rooms in the house and searched through cupboards, wardrobes and fittings in the house. The police, who did not state their mission, were said to have left about six hours later with an envelope whose contents were not known.

However, responding to the news of the raid on her home, Mrs Jonathan said that nothing incriminating was found at the family residence.
